Ballet for Every Age

We offer ballet classes for children from age 3, following the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus. Our classes are designed to develop technique, musicality, and a love of dance in a friendly, encouraging environment.

Pre-School Classes (Ages 3-5)

Our youngest dancers start with Step 1 (Nursery) and Step 2 (Reception) classes, learning basic movements through creative play and simple exercises. These classes build coordination, listening skills, and an early appreciation of music and movement.

Pre-Primary & Primary

Children move on to Pre-Primary and Primary classes where they begin learning the foundations of classical ballet technique. These classes introduce ballet vocabulary and positions in an age-appropriate, enjoyable way.

Graded Classes (Grades 1-8)

The graded syllabus takes students from Grade 1 through to Grade 8, progressively developing technique, artistry, and performance skills. Students may take RAD examinations at each grade level if they wish.

Vocational Grades

For dedicated older students, we offer Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate, and Advanced classes. These more intensive classes prepare students for vocational examinations and can lead to professional training.

Pointe Work

Students who have reached the appropriate level and whose physical development allows may progress to pointe work. This is carefully assessed on an individual basis.

What to Expect

Class Sizes

We keep our classes small to ensure each child receives individual attention and can progress at their own pace.

What to Wear

Children should wear comfortable clothing that allows freedom of movement. Ballet shoes are required (we can advise on where to purchase these). As students progress, we can provide guidance on appropriate uniform.

Term Structure

Classes run during term time, following school terms. Fees are payable termly in advance.

Examinations

RAD examinations are available but not compulsory. Exams provide goals to work towards and official recognition of achievement. We prepare students thoroughly and only enter them when they are ready.
